 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT CAR RENTAL


Accident -If you are involved in an accident, do not move or abandon the vehicle until the police and insurance inspector have arrived and notify us immediately.

Additional Driver - if additional driver, it must be listed on rental agreement. It is free

Cleaning Fee - A cleaning fee of US$12.50 = BZ$25.00 will be charged if the rental vehicle is returned in a condition considered dirty beyond normal or that caused by regular road use.

Age Requirement - Customer must be 23 years or older to rent a vehicle; if between 20-22 years old a double security deposit will be required. Customer must be 70 years or younger.

Coverage - Purchase of Collision DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW) reduces the customers/renters financial responsibility for loss/damages to the vehicle to a minimum of $1000usd. Cost varies by car group confirmed.  For all renters using CASH,a Visa Card or other cards with minimal coverage, CDW is mandatory.    Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain imitations, customer is advised to contact their card issuer before the rental.

Destination - ALL vehicles must remain with Belize.  You may NOT EXIT then country with a rental car.

 

Drive Belize City to Placencia - Road from Belize City to Placencia is all paved, but most tourist attractions requires a 2WD High Clearance Vehicle. Once you divert of from the Main Highways that is when you need something in high clearance.

 

Gasoline - Vehicle must be filled up with Premium or Super Gasoline.

 

Driver Requirement - Renters must have a valid driver’s license

 

Seat belt - Always wear a seat belt while driving

 

Speed -

1. Highway speed limit is 55mph/90kmh

2. Reduce speed on wet roads especially at night time (slippery when wet)

Forbidden Roads - Vehicles are not allowed on Manatee / Coastal Road and George Ville Road.

 

 

Driving in Belize - *IMPORTANT* DRIVING IN BELIZE: on an added note, driving in Belize is like driving anywhere else in the world except for one thing. When making a left hand turn any approaching vehicle or any vehicle immediately behind you has the right away. You must pull over to the extreme right hand side of the road and let both lanes of traffic clear before turning left.

 

Extra Hours - There is a sixty (60) minutes grace period for car return.  After such time, an hourly rate will be charged to the renter.

Renter Equipment - Renters must present valid credit car: Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.

Rental Extensions - Rental extensions should be paid by customers before the original time on the contract expires. Failure to call (for extra hours) or make payment (for extra days) will result in reporting the rental vehicle as stolen or immediate repossession of the rental vehicle, with a repossession fee included.

Rental Rates -

1. Rates include unlimited mileage

2. Do not include 12.5% GST (General Sales Tax)

3. Do not include insurance

4. The daily rate is the amount paid for each 24 hours.

5. Rates do not include CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), refueling, taxes or any charges

Vehicle Return -

1. All vehicles must be returned at the time and location agreed on the rental contract.

2. There is a sixty (60) minutes grace period for car return.  After such time, an hourly rate will be charged to the renter.

3. Charges will be applied for late returns at US$10.00 per hour and after 3 hours; a full day rate will enter into effect.

4. Rentals should be returned with the same level of fuel as rented out with. Extra fuel is customer’s responsibility as no refunds will be granted. Vehicle must be filled up with Premium or Super Gasoline.

Working Hours - Working Hours from 8am to 5pm

Our customers are our priority.In the event of any delays or late flights we will wait for your arrival as long as you have a confirmed reservation with AQ Belize Car Rental.

On your confirmation it is very important to write your international schedule:  AIRLINES & FLIGHT NUMBER.

 

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

3. A security deposit of US$250.00-US$1500.00 (Depending on type of vehicle) is required for the rental vehicles.

4. Renters must present a valid credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express). An imprint /copy of the renter’s credit card is required with a valid pictured ID, no debit(unless has electronic chip)/ bank cards accepted.
